Testimonials

I had the pleasure of buying, 'Dear Old Ballina' in Ballina some years ago and even more pleasure in reading it! I loaned it to a relation who never returned it, so I am e-mailing you to find out how I may obtain another copy here in the UK. My, but how the descendants of a person mentioned in your book have scattered around the globe! Thanks for all the memories. M.C. London.

The Revd James Greer, a gentle and ecumenical Church of Ireland minister, born in Enniscrone, Co Sligo, wrote a series of lovely articles in the Western People in the 1920s under his penname Moy Salmon. Later that collection formed the nucleus of the endearing and enduring The Windings of the Moy. This book was a favourite with a bygone generation and copies probably lie forgotten on bookshelves around the world, carried there by emigrants or posted to them by their loved ones at home. Those of the present generation who have not discovered this book have a real treat in store as the amiable storyteller James Geer traces the Moy River from its source to Killala Bay where it rushes out into the wild and wonderful Atlantic between the shores of Mayo and Sligo. The book, reprinted in 1986, is out of print, and limited unsold copies can be obtained only from this website. A wonderful present that will gladden hearts at home and abroad. Not to be missed! Sold as new.
